The Home Bakery Business Blueprint — a complete business education for cottage bakers.

From Chef Victoria of Donutste

I Replaced My Full-Time Income With Cottage Baking.

I built Donutste from home with my husband while baking just one or two days a week. What started as a way to rebuild our lives became a real business, and eventually took us from cottage baking into our first commercial bakery. The Home Bakery Business Blueprint teaches you the business behind how we did it, and how to build yours.

Built for home bakers in all 50 states.

RECEIPTS

I'm Not Asking You to Take My Word for It.

I replaced my full-time income with cottage baking while baking just one or two times per week.

I've built and operated my baking business across New York, New Jersey and Florida. These are my actual Square sales reports from two of those years.

This is my experience, not a promise. What you earn depends on your product, your market, your state's rules and your work.

THE JOHNNY'S HOUSE STORY

We Grew Fast. We Weren't Prepared for What Came With It.

One of the biggest challenges we had as a cottage bakery was how quickly we grew and having to create systems as we went.

The day before we opened our cottage shop, Donutste was shouted out on Johnny's House, a popular morning radio show on XL106.7 in Orlando. We had absolutely no clue it happened.

The next day we opened, and there was a line of cars in our neighborhood. People were showing up, traffic became an issue, there were problems with neighbors, and eventually we got a call from the city because we had to figure out how we were going to handle what was happening.

We weren't prepared for that kind of growth. We had to create a system to fix the problem while we were already in the middle of it.

We figured it out, and what came out of that experience became part of how we learned to handle growth differently. I talk about the system we created and what we learned from that experience inside the Blueprint.

BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE

I've Actually Built This.

Co-Founder, Donutste Doughnuts & Donutste Coffee

Meet Chef Victoria

My husband, Chef Shalom, and I started baking while we were homeless in New York. We built a successful baking business there. Then we moved to Florida during the pandemic and had to prove we could do it all over again from zero.

I've built and operated my baking business across New York, New Jersey and Florida. In Florida, we started with private pickups, farmers markets and pop-ups, and the lines started to form. That grew into the pink cottage bakery people came to, a Donutste brand people recognized, viral attention, television features, and eventually our move into commercial baking.

Donutste is the proof of concept behind everything I teach. I know what it's like when demand grows faster than your systems, when you have to start over in a new market, and when a home bakery outgrows the home.

The Home Bakery Business Blueprint teaches the business behind all of it: how to set it up, what to sell, how to price it, how to find customers, how to market it, and how to grow when you're ready.

This isn't business theory from someone watching from the sidelines.

THE PART BAKING SCHOOL DOESN'T TEACH

Being a Great Baker and Knowing How to Build a Bakery Business Are Two Completely Different Skills.

You can know how to bake and still have no idea how to price your products, find customers, understand your numbers, market yourself, or know when it's actually time to grow. I had to learn that part by doing it.

The Blueprint teaches you the business behind the baking.

INSIDE THE BLUEPRINT

From Setting Up the Business to Actually Growing It.

30+ modules built around actually starting, running and growing a home bakery business.

We get into setting up the business, deciding what you're selling, building your brand, finding customers, understanding your numbers, pricing, marketing, and what happens when you're ready to grow.

This isn't information I pulled together from watching other people build bakeries. It's built from what I've actually done.

PHASE 01

The Business

Set your baking up as a real business from day one.

PHASE 02

The Products

Figure out what you're actually selling and build a menu with intention.

PHASE 03

The Brand

Build something people recognize, remember and want to talk about.

PHASE 04

Selling

Learn how to get your products in front of people and give customers more than one way to buy from you.

PHASE 05

The Numbers

Understand what's happening behind the sales so you know whether you're actually making money.

PHASE 06

Growth

Know what to think about when bigger opportunities start coming, and decide whether bigger is even what you want.

50-STATE COTTAGE FOOD HANDBOOK

Your State Shouldn't Require 37 Open Google Tabs.

Cottage food rules are different in every state, and the information is often scattered across different agency websites. The Blueprint includes a complete 50-State Cottage Food Handbook with a guide for every state, so you have somewhere to start no matter where you live.

All 50 states. A guide for each one. Built for home bakers.

SELLING YOUR PRODUCTS

Getting Customers Is Its Own Skill.

When my husband and I started at farmers markets, we sold out every time. We were carrying bins filled with hundreds of donuts, setting up our tent ourselves with our son, and watching the lines form.

But selling out wasn't an accident. Having a great product matters, but you still have to learn how to get that product in front of people, give them a reason to buy it, and give them a reason to come back.

The Blueprint teaches you the business behind actually selling what you make.

Don't wait for traffic. Learn how to create it.

MORE THAN THE LESSONS

You Don't Just Get the Lessons.

I included tools to help you actually do the work while you're building the business: a business planner, companion guides, worksheets, and a baseline recipe library you can test, tweak and build from.

WHO THIS IS FOR

For Bakers Who Can Make the Product but Are Still Figuring Out the Business.

Maybe you're getting ready to start. Maybe you've already been selling and realized that orders are not the same thing as profit. Maybe the bakery is growing and every next step feels like something else you have to figure out the hard way.

The Home Bakery Business Blueprint was built for the part nobody teaches you when you learn how to bake: how to build the business around what you're making.

This is not a get-rich-quick course. It's a business education for home bakers who want to build something real.

FAQ

Common Questions

No. Some people are getting ready to start. Others have been selling for a while and need the business side to catch up. If you're somewhere in between, you're in the right place.

You don't start over. You look at the business you have with clearer eyes and fix what needs fixing.

Yes. The Blueprint is built for home bakers in all 50 states, and it includes the 50-State Cottage Food Handbook, with a guide for every state.

No. I started at farmers markets, but a market is one place to sell, not a whole business. The Blueprint shows you how to think about where and how your bakery sells.

Yes. The Baseline Bakery Recipe Library has starting recipes you can test, adapt and make your own. They aren't proprietary Donutste recipes.

Yes. Both are part of the Blueprint, along with the other big decisions that come with actually running a home bakery business.

You have unlimited access. There's no time limit.

My opinion is to stay cottage as long as you can. I say that as someone who has actually made the transition into commercial baking. Cottage gives you an opportunity to learn what sells, understand your customers, work through your pricing and build the business before taking on commercial overhead. And if you never want to go commercial, that's okay too. A cottage bakery can be the business.

My opinion is not until you're profitable. Hiring someone doesn't fix a business that isn't making money. It adds another expense. Get your numbers working first, understand what the business can actually afford, and then decide whether you're ready to bring someone in.

In my experience, yes. I've sold in different ways, and I will always tell a baker to build direct-to-consumer first. You know who your customers are, you control how your brand is presented, and you're not giving away part of your margin just to get your product in front of someone else's customer.
THE HOME BAKERY BUSINESS BLUEPRINT

If You're Going to Build It, Learn How to Build the Business Too.

I learned this by actually doing it. Starting over. Selling at markets. Baking from home. Building demand. Making mistakes. Fixing them. Growing beyond the home.

The Home Bakery Business Blueprint puts that experience into one place so you don't have to figure every part of the business out by yourself.
